However, it is the latter one that has resulted in a great deal of confusion among the users. A few of them have voiced their concern that the Gaalxy S23 Ultra is missing the WQHD+ resolution. Since the Ultra variant officially supports three display resolutions, namely HD+, FHD+, and WQHD+, so the curious case of missing WQHD+ from a selected few devices is bound to raise a few eyebrows. However, the real picture might not be as concerning as it may sound.
Why is WQHD+ missing on Galaxy S23 Ultra?
While in most S23 Ultra, you will find the HD+, FHD+, and WQHD+ resolution, in a selected few, you might come across HD+, FHD+, and QHD+ resolution, in other words, QHD+ instead of WQHD+. But truth be told, it shouldn’t be a great deal of inconvenience as both have the same screen resolution, which is 3088 x 1440 pixels. So while the naming convention is slightly different [Quad High Definition+ vs Wide Quad High Definition+], you are still getting the same pixel resolution. Hence it shouldn’t make much of a difference, or rather any difference for that matter as you are still greeted with the same 2K screen. So this would have given you clarity regarding the missing WQHD+ resolution on Galaxy S23 Ultra.
WQHD+ vs QHD+: Two Members of the same family!
As far as the plausible reasoning behind a change in the naming scheme is concerned, it could be attributed to the region where those devices are being sold, so CSC might have a role to play. But as of now, you could digest this fact with a pinch of salt, until it gets officially confirmed by Samsung. As and when that happens, we will update this post accordingly.
