Well, the Google Pixel 7a is the next iteration in the Pixel a-series and the successor to last year’s Pixel 6a. There are some noteworthy improvements from its predecessor, but before looking at what they are, let’s get the usual out of the way.
Google Pixel 7a Design
Well, we already know how the Pixel 7A looks; first off, the Design of the Pixel 7a is inspired by its Flagship siblings, i.e., Pixel 7 series, as you’d expect since it is a toned-down version of the flagship series. Anyway, let’s quickly go through it. There’s a big display at the front, with slim bezels all around, although, like an affordable smartphone, the Pixel 7a has thick bezels at the bottom. There’s a centered punch-hole front camera. Google Pixel 7a Specifications
Google Pixel 7a features a 6.1-inch OLED display with a 90Hz high refresh rate (which is the first for a Pixel A device) to have a high refresh rate display & Full HD+ resolution. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass and supports HDR.
Under the hood, The affordable Google Pixel 7a is powered by Google’s own Google Tensor G2 chipset with advanced machine learning & AI, and there’s also Titan M2 chipset with added security, and there’s 8GB RAM & 128GB UFS 3.1 storage.
The device runs on Android 13 & the company promises three years of Android updates & five years of security updates. The handset comes in four color options – Charcoal, Coral, Snow, and Sea (Although Coral isn’t coming to India).
For the optics, There are dual rear cameras set up at the back, including a 64MP main sensor with f/1.89 aperture and a secondary 13MP ultra-wide lens with up to 8X Super Res Zoom & f/2.2 aperture.
As for the front, there’s a 13MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture. Other camera features include Night Sight, Photo Unblur, Magic Eraser, Long Exposure & more.
The Google Pixel comes with a 4,385mAh battery with support for 18W fast wired charging (which is slow as per charging standards nowadays). Of course, there’s no charger in the box. The handset also supports 5W wireless charging. As for other features, there’s an in-display fingerprint, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, Stereo speakers, and IP67 rated.
